Welcome from the Chairman

New talent, pioneering procedures, progress in tried-and-true treatments, and quicker, easier access for patients and referring physicians are among the many developments shaping the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.  The Department is growing and continuing to recruit a wealth of new talent in most of the orthopaedic surgery subspecialities.  The quality of our faculty attract the best applicants to our orthopaedic residency program which is ranked in the top 10% nationally.

Mission Statement The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is dedicated to inspiring students, residents, fellows and faculty to work towards discovery of the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and resources needed to deliver quality patient care that is responsive to the general needs of the local community as well as meeting the specialized needs of the world. Further, the Department is determined to provide comprehensive orthopaedic medical and surgical care to a broad range of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The Department is dedicated to creating a work environment for all faculty and staff (including residents, fellows, and students) which fosters creative, innovative work ideas and results.

Through a long-term commitment to this mission, we will be known as an Orthopaedic Department with few equals.
