Matthew Meunier, MD
|
Associate Clinical ProfessorHand & Microvascular Surgery |
A board certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Meunier was a resident at top-ranked Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and completed his fellowship training in hand surgery at Washington University in St Louis. Along with holding a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery (CAQ), Dr Meunier has additional training and expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of the elbow and shoulder. This allows him to manage unique hand, elbow or shoulder injuries/disorders that require a comprehensive view of the function and treatment of the entire upper extremity. He is the Fellowship Director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at UC San Diego Medical School. Dr Meunier played high school soccer and tennis and then competed in rugby and squash at Wesleyan University. He continues to stay active through running, cycling and surfing. In 2007 he and his wife, Cathy, followed the Tour de France and rode the Pyrenees stages after the riders had passed through. Dr Meunier believes that it's important to listen carefully to a patient's concerns and then discuss treatment options. He finds it very satisfying to help patients return to full function, whether that means a casual round of golf or competitive swimming.
